Bio:
Accomplished Fulbright and UNDP scholar, Dr. Mateias has 15+ years of R&D policy and practice experience in the field of Leadership and Emotional Intelligence in the USA and Europe. Delia’s teaching-research agenda is focused on big data analytics for more informed educational and business decisions.
Currently, Dr. Mateias collaborates with Dr. Shivraj Kanungo at the Decision Sciences Department of George Washington University, leading research on “Decision bias in team performance” to put forward evidence-based practices in decision-making process. Delia has authored a book on leadership, written several articles, and has contributed to the adaptation of positive assessment instruments used worldwide in education, training, and teaching. She had been awarded several research grants.
Delia acquired domain-specific knowledge, research practice and competence during master and doctoral research in British & American environments. She completed a pioneering PhD thesis, “Emotional Intelligence in Leadership”, during the Fulbright stage at the George Washington University.
Main correspondent in Europe for the Emotional Intelligence Training & Research Institute (EITRI). Delia is the single author of the holistic human development model “TRANSFORM”, a Performance-Based Roadmap for leadership & personnel excellence. She has taught pioneering courses in colleges and companies for more than a decade, employing validated models of emotional intelligence and transformational leadership for the acquisition of 21st Century skills.

Bio:
Friends since first grade and working together since 1977, Dr. Darwin Nelson and Dr. Gary Low have created, researched, and developed the education, transformative theory and model of emotional intelligence, the Emotional Learning System, and Research Initiative with Emotional Intelligence at TAMUK. Together and individually, they have authored books, articles, and positive assessment instruments used worldwide in education, training, and teaching.
Dr. Low has served as professor, department chair, director of doctoral program in educational leadership, first dean of College I−now University College (first-year academic college), and assistant dean of the college of education at TAMUK. He has developed and taught EI courses for first-generation college students, graduate, and doctoral students, and with Dr. Nelson has provided workshops and seminars on the development of affective skills for over forty years.
Now, spanning four decades, Dr. Low works collaboratively with educators, organizations, and colleges in designing and implementing EI curricula, programs, and resources to build healthy, students, people, and organizations.

Bio:
Dr. Hammett’s research and professional interests include psychometry and the measure of latent human factors, how counseling and coaching theories are leveraged to enhance individual and group performance, organizational and school development, and the development of social-emotional learning standards in curricula across education. He counts among his literary contributions an Emotional Intelligence Leadership Theory (Nelson, Low, & Hammett, 2008), the HLN-EI Leadership Model (Hammett, Low, & Nelson, 2007), the Personal Excellence Map (PEM) (Nelson, Low, & Hammett, 2007), the development of more dynamic representations of the Emotional Learning System (ELS), significant contributions to Emotional Intelligence: Achieving Academic and Career Excellence, 2nd ed. (2011), and The International Journal of Emotional Intelligence.
Rick is a founding faculty member of the Emotional Intelligence Training and Research Institute, a principal in EI Learning Systems, Inc., and the U.S. representative for the Forum for Emotional Intelligence Learning (FEIL) in Mumbai, India.
Education:
Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University-Kingsville and Corpus Christi (faculty hours in counseling).
